Immigration cases are complex for a variety of reasons. First, the law is complicated and ever changing. No two cases are the same because everyone's story is unique, and there is no such thing as a simple immigration case.
An intending Immigrant's past history of visits/entries into the US, his/her current and past memberships in groups or associations, prior countries they've lived in, and work or activities they've been involved with all factor into an Immigration analysis as these will affect the outcome of the case.
A good immigration lawyer cannot give you the proper advice without getting all the relevant information to know your story. For this reason, a typical consultation lasts between 30 and 60 minutes. The reason we charge fees for consultations is because it takes a considerable amount of time to get all of the important information that we need to properly evaluate your case. Remember that incorrect advice in Immigration law has serious consequences for you and your family member/employee which could, at worst, result in the arrest and/or Deportation of the applicant from the United States.
What Happens During a Consultation? During the consultation, an experienced immigration lawyer will discuss all aspects of your case, identify the best strategies for achieving your goals, estimate the chances of success, and explain the relevant timeline, fees, and process that apply to your particular kind of case.
Are Consultations in Person Only? No. Consultations may be in-person, over the telephone, or by video conference. Payment for the consultation fee must be made before the scheduled time of the consultation.
